Langman Gallery Presents Diane Hark: Waterways

Hark’s current series of colorful boats, bridges and buildings float against a reflective backdrop of waterways and scenic shorelines. Her vigorous brushwork creates a tapestry of translucent pigments to achieve luminous patterns of light and form. Hark’s impressionistic imagery continues to remind us of the value and beauty of our world and the importance of experiencing such splendor. Her watercolors act as a visual travel log – documenting the artist’s travels to local destinations and around the world.

Diane Hark began her artistic education at the Cheltenham Art Center and later at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. As a student at Moore College of Art & Design, the Woodmere Art Museum and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art, she developed her painting skills and artistic sensibility. Hark has studied painting with numberous teachers, notably Arthur De Costa, Ben Kamahira, Sidney Goodman, Homer Johnson, Elizabeth Osbourne and Dominic DiStepheno.

She is a signature member of the Pennsylvania Watercolor Society, the Missouri Watercolor Society, Philadelphia Sketch Club, Allied Artists of America, Tri/State Artists Equity, a board member of the Philadelphia Watercolor Society and an alumni member of the Pennsylvania Academy of Art. Throughout her career, Hark’s original paintings have been exhibited in numerous one-woman shows, juried exhibitions and national competitions.
